Regional Commissioner |
Coordinates the league working with the board of directors. Interfaces with the city and other AYSO leagues and the AYSO Area, Section, and National Representatives. Attends the Section Conference in the Winter (usually February) and the National AYSO meeting on Memorial Day weekend. (4 hours/week) |
Assistant Regional Commissioner |
Supports the Regional Commissioner in the management of the league. Plans and Coordinates fund raising activities, tournaments, and other events. Trains to serve as Regional Commissioner. (2 hours/week) |
Safety Director |
Responsible for the safety of the players and volunteers. Inspects fields and equipment to ensure safety. Coordinates Soccer Accident Insurance Claims. (1 hour/week). |
Treasurer |
Maintains the AYSO financial records, writes checks to pay bills and makes deposits. (1 hour/week) |
Child and Volunteer Protection Advocate |
CVPA – also called Volunteer Coordinator. Collects and enters in an on-line database the volunteer registration forms. Provides board with assistance in dealing with Child and Volunteer abuse incidents. (1 hour/week) |
Referee Administrator |
Responsible for the referee program. Manages scheduling, recruitment, training, and retention of referees. Maintains a database of referee volunteers. Works with Referee Instructors and Referee Schedulers. (2 hours/week). |
Coach Administrator |
Responsible for the coaching program. Manages the recruitment and training of coaches. Maintains a database of coach volunteers. Coordinates the balancing of teams. (2 hours/week) |
Division Coordinator |
Coordinate and communicate information to 6-8 coaches/teams throughout the season, assist in fall team formation, assist in game scheduling, assign new players in the Spring, and help at the coaches meetings to get team assignments and other information to the coaches. (1-2 hour/week during playing season, 4-6 hours at beginning of fall season, 4-6 hours at beginning of spring season) |
Secretary |
Maintains minutes of the Board Meetings. Assists with development and publication of web site and newsletters. (1 hour/week) |
Team Volunteers: |
Each team needs a coach, assistant coach, 1-2 referees and a team manager. |

Coach Safe Haven Course Required. Training for coaching each division provided. ( 4-6 hours/week plus training.) |

Registration Staff |
Assist at the registration booth in the Spring or Summer. Help set up or take down registration booth. (2-4 hours) |
Referee Scheduling Staff |
Make phone calls and/or send emails to locate referees for schedule. (2-4 hours/week) |
Special Projects Committee |
Plan and help implement special projects such as Kid’s Zone, Opening Day Ceremonies, fund raising events, etc. (5-10 hours/year) |
Youth Referee Coordinator |
Organize the youth referee meetings, act as mentor to youth referees, work with Referee scheduler to schedule youth referees for games. (20-30 hours/year) |
Coach Packet Committee |
Collect and prepare information and items for the Coaches Packets.Stuff the coach packets before Coaches Meeting in August. (4-6 hours before coach meeting in August) |
Volunteer Appreciation Committee |
Plan and implement ideas to help recruit, retain, and award the volunteers. (5-10 hours/year). |
Fields Committee |
Coordinates with City Rec. Dept. on the use and maintenance of fields. Coordinates regional work done at fields. Arranges for field problems to be fixed. (10-20 hours/year) |
Equipment Manager |
Purchase, distribute, maintain, collect, and store regional equipment (balls, nets, practice jerseys, cones, corner flags, coolers, and other regionally owned equipment). (10 hours/year) |
Regional Statistician |
Collects and reviews game cards and maintains game statistics. (10-20 hours/year) |
Advertising/Sponsorship Committee |
Coordinate the advertising of registration and other regional events with newspapers, radio stations, etc. Solicit community sponsors for regional events as needed. (10-20 hours/year) |
Regional Tournament Coordinator |
Coordinate schedule for Regional tournament. Order tournament trophies. Assist in the scoring for the tournament held at end of October. (20 hours each year) |
Summer Soccer Camp Aide |
Assist coaches at 1 session during the week of summer soccer camp with getting water and refreshments to campers, escorting to restrooms, first aid, etc. (2-3 hours) |
Housing for MLS Summer Camp Coaches |
Provide housing for 1 or more coaches during the week of summer soccer camp. |
Data Entry |
Use computer to create/update data files as needed. (1-5 hours) |
Parent/Player Handbook, other publications |
Design and development of various publications to be distributed to membership. (1-10 hours) |
